JNTU introduces PG course in VLSI

In a move to expand its expertise in Very Large Scale Integration (VLSI) and Embedded Systems Design, the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University today signed an MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) with Synopsys Inc’s academic initiative - Seer Akademi.

Seer Akademi provides Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools and resources for teaching and academic research in India which has witnessed a surging demand for expertise in the industry.

The premier technology university introduced post graduate course in VLSI and embedded systems design and declared the admissions open from today. The admissions will continue till August 16.

According to the MoU, teaching procedures will be developed with a target to increase employability of the students. Also lectures by international professors apart from the local faculty, interaction with industry experts, industryoriented practicals and skill development methods will be developed.

Part and full-time courses have been designed to benefit maximum number of students. The full-time course is for two years while the that of part-time is for three years, according to a press release.

Students who have cleared GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) or the PGECET(Post Graduate Engineering Common Entrance Test) along with a background in ECE (Electronics and Communication Engineering), EEE (Electrical and Electronics Engineering) or EIE (Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering) are eligible for the PG course, the press release added.
